Wandering Hook 90-degree Offset - Hook Only!
NOTE: This listing is for the Wandering Hook 90-degree offset mount only! If you already have a favorite ¼"-20 mount for our hook to go on, this is for you!
(however, if you are looking for a hook with a handle, this listing is not for you. Try HERE or HERE for our best-selling, complete models!)
Designed for explorers, photographers, and field researchers, the Wandering Hook (Patent pending) is a modular 90° offset camera mount built for reliability and versatility in rugged environments. Whether you’re documenting wildlife behavior up close, filming creative low-angle shots, or photographing reptiles under cover boards, the Wandering Hook keeps your camera stable, secure, and perfectly aligned with your pole for natural, controlled perspectives.
The Hook connects to any camera featuring a ¼"-20 threaded receptor—the industry-standard mount size for most major camera brands—and attaches easily to any pole or stick equipped with a ¼"-20 threaded adapter (see example images!). The hook is pictured with a variety of mounts (sold separately).
Each Wandering Hook is handcrafted in the USA by our veteran-owned & operated two-person team, precisely built from stainless steel to support a standard DSLR or mirrorless camera in a true 90° inline orientation relative to the pole. Designed for both stability and portability, it is strong enough for demanding field conditions but compact enough to slip into your carry-on or day pack. For those traveling light, the Wandering Hook pairs beautifully with a sturdy collapsible camera pole add-on (you can provide your own, or buy one from us for an additional fee). It breaks down for carry-on, creating a lightweight, pack-able system ideal for your next herping trip.
Usage Notice: Wandering Scales LLC makes no claims regarding the efficacy or safety of our hooks for use in handling animals of any variety, as we cannot control what mount our users may choose to attach the hook to. For any who choose to use our mounts as a snake handling tool (or any other use than camera equipment), please understand that any such use of this camera mount is at the sole discretion of the user, and Wandering Scales LLC accepts no liability for such use.
