The Wandering Net - Butterfly Edition is built for modularity in a range of field situations, allowing for bringing a sturdy bug net along while taking up minimal packing space.
The Wandering Net pairs perfectly with the Wandering Hook, creating a stable 90-degree offset setup that makes scooping and collecting easier in tight or awkward spaces. It’s compatible with a variety of poles, including the 10–25" Sandmarc Action Pole, 7–19" XSories Pivot-Top Pole (blue pole shown in photos), and our Herper’s Hiking Stick by Wandering Scales. These poles can be purchased separately, or you can use your own ¼" threaded mount. For extra reach and flexibility, the XSories mount can be combined with other compatible extensions (see final photo).
Each Wandering Net is handcrafted in the USA by our veteran-owned & operated two-person team. Compact, durable, and travel-friendly, it’s an excellent option for those traveling without checked baggage who want a discreet, reliable net for fieldwork or spontaneous exploration.
For the custom color option, we make specific colors to order. If you would like a specific color, please reach out and we'll let you know if we have one in stock. If so, you can purchase the basic ($7.95) model. If the custom color you would like is not in stock, we can make you a custom net, however cost increases as we'll have to do a rush order to craft it, and the processing time will increase as well due to component purchase time.
